reading frenzy

i used to red alot. i mean.. A LOT. n mostly old english literature. i used to marvel deep and fascinated by the way jane austen could write story that touches our life but delivering it with such simplicity that it was easy to understand the century that the story took place. i love jane austen. i think i've read most of her novels, sense n sensibility, mansfield park.. cant remember the rest.

i usually choose my novel based on the author. say, if i read one book, and i think i love the story, i will hunt all books by the same author. so its no surprise that i have read all books by sidney sheldon, john grisham, patricia cromwell, dan brown, stephenie meyer (still on going, the twilight thingy), anne rice, and many more which i cant remember.

i will let you in a little secret. he he.. my favorite love story in the world is well, not romeo and juliet (because i think romeo is stupid and juliet is another idiot, she should just be content with paris).. but my all-time fav love story is between elizabeth benneth and mr darcy in pride and prejudice (also by jane austen).

the story took place in the early 19th century. i like reading old stories, i mean stories that emanates old soul from some old century. if i get to choose the year i am to live, i probably wanted to live in some faraway land in england somewhere in the 19th century for life is always simple at that time.

why?

living life seemed less complicated then. people fell in love, get married and live happily ever after. simple, logical, and yet, so fulfilling. people rarely asked your social status, does not care for big cars, huge homes, some big fancy lands or nice carriage for that matter.

life is so much fun living when you have no expectations..

i always know what i want. i want a quite life. far away from urban modernisation. if its possible, i wanted to live in a jungle or in an estate, surrounded by woods, living a serene life day after day, being content of what i have not what i could have.. is it so much to ask for?

and by the way, im still reading the twilight series. im done with the first novel twilight, new moon, and eclipse. im on to the last installment of the series, 'breaking dawn'.. all in all, there are 4 novels altogether. i have to admit, the story is so plain, plot is so undramatic, i can almost always guess the next move by every character. its kinda boring after almost 1000pages..

one that i wasnt prepared for is the author interpretation and definition of 'love' itself. and the weight of emotions that linked and bond all characters in the story. it mirrorred what i felt almost a year ago, and i almost stop reading for it triggered all sorts of emotions that i rather not fond of recalling..

i tried hard to finish the books.. but at times, i almost wish that i never started watching the movie or even read the series.. *sigh*... it gets under my skin after a while too..

ah well, i gotta get back to work.
