H1N1 hits home..

my sister's school is lockdown and is now put under quarantine. apparently, H1N1 hits and four of the students were now hospitalized. another 20 plus students are suspected and under doctor's observation, my sister is cleared for now, but they are not letting them go home, bcoz usually, it took 72 hours for H1N1 to register and develop any simptoms..

ekin, age 17, now form five is number eight in the family. she was supposed to be home yesterday for the weekend. my father ordered some books for her SPM, we waited but she didnt come. it was usual though, bcoz usually, if she didnt make it home by friday, she usually popped in on saturday morning.

i waited for her all this morning, but she didnt arrive. she didnt have a cellphone with her bcoz the boarding school never allowed the kids to use mobile phone. stupid effing rules. my parents already left home for the weekend like usual, so im all alone pondering why she is not coming home. usually she will call if she change her plan or whatnots.. but i waited n waited.. she never call..

around 2pm today, ekin finally called. she told me she cant make it home bcoz the school admin are not letting any kids out yet due to H1N1 virus that spread in the school. masya Allah.. i told her to wait and im going to go n pick her n bring her home, but she said no visitors are allowed, the security are tightened, not even parents are allowed in. damn damn.. i told her to call me back, bcoz she was using the hostel public phone. im going to tell my parents, but i couldnt reach them. jane is also not at home, she got training or some sorts in kk..

im still waiting for her to call me back. maybe she ran out of coins..

i remembered when ekin was born.. she was so tiny and so small.. but she got this brilliant eyes. one of the geniuses and the best memory among us siblings..

masa ekin kecil, i was rarely home. bcoz at that time, i studied in boarding school as well. bila cuti skolah, i cant wait to go home. i always look forward to see ekin bcoz she was so special..

masa ekin kecik2, ekin boleh membaca sebelum dia boleh bercakap.. yep.. she is such a small genius, she reads before she even know how to talk properly.. i so loved giving her books to read. slalu, dia akan duduk atas perut bapak and bacakan bapak news paper.. masa tu umur dia dalam dua tahun lebih.. and she already read the newspaper..

ekin have this almost superb ability to memorize. contohnya, she only needs to listen to any songs and she can repeat and sing back all the lyrics correctly.. she can do malay, english, korean, japanese and watever language of the song, all she have to is listen to it once..kdg2, bila ada satu lagu that i really like, i always asked her to sing..

and our favorite is asking her to copy dancing.. she can dance really well.. all she needs is look at the step once and she can dance.. slalu, bila ada video klip kat tv that we really like, afterwards, kitorang akan suruh dia copy the step and ajar kitorang balik menari.. and i love watching her dance.. people call it photographic memory.. and probably, she is blessed with kinetic and spatial geniuses, one of the seventh branch of geniuses known to mankind..

our favorite is asking her to mimick the the 'papa n mama bear' dance from 'full house'..
n my favorite is 'low' from flo-rida and t-pain..

everytime i go to kk, i never miss the opportunty to sneak her out from the school. kalau jane, jane akan pusing2 carik warden nak mintak kebenaran bawak ekin kuar shopping. if me, i cant be bothered. i will just ask her to get into the car and menyorok bawah seat and we will cover her with bags or kain. and like me when she was my age, she is very prone to breaking school rules.. it runs in the family.. hehe...

i miss her so much. i hope she's gonna be ok.. ya Allah, pls keep my sister safe...
